NASA Academy U10 Girls - Team Assignments: (updated November 18)
Rosters are larger than in regular weekly Academy games. Tournament schedules have multiple games per day, and tournament rules don't permit us to borrow a player from another NASA team to fill a hole like we can in our weekly games, so we have larger rosters to compensate.
You can click each team's name to view its schedule.

Notes:
Arrival time: Girls should report to the game field 30 minutes before kickoff for warm-up. Parking at the Granite Drive facility could be a challenge, so if your daughter is playing there, you may need to drop your daughter off at the field so she can start warm-up while you find a parking spot.
Bad weather: In case of bad weather, tournament games could be shortened or converted into penalty kick shootouts rather than being canceled altogether. If the weather is iffy, check our Academy hot-line or the tournament web site.
Tips for parents: We ask that you be your daughter's biggest fan, and all the other girls' 2nd biggest fan. Help us keep the environment positive and fun for the players. Link: Game day guidelines for parents.
Uniforms: Girls should wear their blue shirts, blue shorts and white socks. They should also have their white shirts, white shorts, and blue socks in their backpack in case we have to change due to a color conflict.
Cold weather attire: The current forecast calls for lows in the 40s, highs in the mid 60s. Nice! We have one 8 AM game on Sunday, so we may see the 40s for that game. Link: cold weather tips
Footwear: Girls should wear their normal soccer shoes and also bring some extra socks and comfortable shoes. After games, the girls should remove their soccer socks, shinguards and shoes, and switch to clean socks and comfortable shoes. This will give their feet a well-earned break.
No jewelry: Players should leave earrings, necklaces, bracelets and any hard hair accessories at home or be prepared to remove them, otherwise they may not be allowed to play.
Proper hydration: Please make sure your daughter is staying properly hydrated. This includes drinking plenty of "good" fluids before, during and after games. Link: hydration guidelines. Also make sure she brings a large insulated water jug (minimum ½ gallon) to each game.
Nutrition notes: Good nutrition can have a huge impact on your daughter's performance over the weekend:
Before games: The girls should eat a high-carb, low-fat breakfast a couple of hours before their first games. Milk is fine with cereal, but the girls should skip milk as a pre-game beverage.
Between games: The girls should eat a light meal within an hour after their first games. Carbohydrates and moderate amounts of protein are fine; avoid high-fat foods. If the post-game meal is not enough to carry your daughter over until her second game, she can eat a small snack (something light like low-fat crackers, an energy bar or a banana) about an hour before the second game. The best between-game fluids are water or sports drinks like Gatorade or PowerAde; avoid milk during this period.
After each day's 2nd game: The girls should eat some type of carbohydrate snack as soon as possible after their second Saturday games. This is one time where candy is actually a decent choice. They can eat a big meal after they get home. Milk is fine during this post-game period.
After the final game: You have our permission to throw the previous guidelines out the window!
